    Record-Breaking Impact

    We're proud to announce the 16th annual Million Meals campaign raised a record $633,513, which helped provide more than 3.16 million meals for hungry families and individuals. These funds will help more than 70 food banks and pantries across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas stock their shelves for the busy summer months. We're grateful to everyone who helped us raise money to feed our neighbors in need and bring attention to food insecurity in our communities.

    History of Million Meals

    In 2011, Arvest launched the Million Meals campaign to help raise awareness about food insecurity in the bank's four-state footprint of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. Hunger continues to be an issue in every community we serve, as households struggle to provide enough food for their families due to lack of resources. The summer months can be especially hard on families with children who don't have the help of free or reduced lunches during the school year. 

    Since the campaign's inception, Arvest has provided more than 31 million meals, which includes more than $5.7 million in funds given directly to local community food partners.

    A healthy community is a strong community, and we're proud to partner with organizations that help fight hunger daily.

    Hunger Affects Everyone

    Every day, more people in our community are having a hard time putting food on the table. Children are hit especially hard during the summer, when they do not get free or reduced-price meals at school. With your support, we hope to provide over a million meals for our neighbors and bring more attention to the issue of food insecurity.

    According to the latest data by the USDA, an estimated 13.7% of American households were considered food insecure, meaning they had difficulty at some time during the year providing enough food for all their household members due to a lack of resources.

    Food Insecurity in Our Region

    • Based on average rates between 2022-2024, Arkansas ranked first in the nation in food insecurity, with 19.4% of households reporting food insecurity.
    • Oklahoma ranked 6th in the nation at 16.9%.
    • At 13.3%, Missouri ranked 17th.
    • Kansas ranked 26th at 12.5%.

    Nationwide Child Hunger

    • 18.4% of U.S. households with children under age 18 experienced food insecurity in 2024.
    • 17.8% of households with children under age 6 experienced food insecurity in 2024.
    • 36.8% of households with children headed by a single woman experienced food insecurity in 2024.
    • 23.8% of households with children headed by a single man experienced food insecurity in 2024.

    Hunger in Older Adults

    • 9.9% of all U.S. households with elderly members experienced food insecurity in 2024.
    • 11.3% of households with elderly members living alone experienced food insecurity in 2024.
