Cowger Named Springfield Market President

Arvest Bank has named Shane Cowger president of its Springfield region. Cowger has been an Arvest associate for over 25 years, and he has served in various roles for the bank’s Springfield market since 2011, including as sales manager and most recently as loan manager. As president, Cowger will be responsible for ensuring the bank’s success in the Ozarks region, as well as helping guide and shape the overall health and future of the Springfield community and surrounding areas.

“We’re thrilled to have Shane step into this role. He brings the deep institutional knowledge and local understanding necessary to excel as our next bank president,” said Kirk Hays, Regional Executive for Arvest Bank’s Northwest Region. “His leadership experience will be instrumental in guiding our teams and supporting the needs of our customers in the Ozarks.”

Cowger serves on the board of directors for Camp Barnabas and as a committee member for the Missouri Bankers’ Association Executive Management Conference, and he served as chair for the Ronald McDonald House board in 2024, on the board of trustees for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri and Kansas and on the Battlefield Planning and Zoning Commission. He is also a Missouri State High School Activities Association certified referee and was named 2024-2025 Official of the Year by MSHSAA.

“It's been an honor to serve as a member of our local leadership team for the last 14 years. The Ozarks have been a truly wonderful place for my wife and me to build our careers and raise our children, two of whom now work locally in public education,” Cowger said. “I'm humbled and proud to have this new opportunity to lead our incredible team of associates, who demonstrate not only our commitment to our customers but also our dedication to the long-term growth and success of our community. I am committed to ensuring our legacy of strength and excellence continues and that we remain intentionally focused on meeting the needs of the people, places and organizations that together make the Ozarks the very best place to call home.”
