What is the difference between conducting transactions using the contactless feature of my card vs. inserting the chip?
Contactless cards use short-range wireless technology to make secure payments at contactless-enabled terminals. Instead of inserting your card into the bottom of a chip-enabled reader, you can simply tap your card on the contactless-enabled terminal or hold your card within one to two inches of the terminal for a few seconds to complete the payment.
You can tap to make a contactless payment at millions of places worldwide, wherever you see the Contactless Symbol.
Some merchants may also require you to enter a PIN or sign for your purchase.
When a contactless-enabled terminal is not available, you can still swipe or insert your contactless card to pay anytime.
