What happens if a check or other payment overdraws my account?
Arvest Bank provides overdraft coverage options to our customers (conditions and fees may apply).
- ATM withdrawals
- Debit card purchases
- In-person transactions
- Online or telephone transfers
- Checks
- Electronic debits, etc.
When one of the above events is presented for payment, yet your account balance does not have matching or sufficient funds to cover the item amount, the payment will be paid by Arvest (up to an approved specified overdraft coverage limit). A $17 overdraft fee may be charged to your account for each item paid unless restricted by law. Up to four overdraft fees may be charged to your checking account per business day. Overdraft fees charged to your account will reduce the overdraft coverage limit.

A payment may be returned if you authorize it for more than the total funds available from your account. If we return a transaction to your checking account, we will not charge you a non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee, but the merchant may charge you fees.
