Chip-Enabled EMV Cards

Chip-Enabled EMV Cards

Big Protection in a Tiny Chip

New Arvest Corporate Credit Cards and Purchasing Cards now come with EMV (Europay™, MasterCard® and Visa®) chip technology built right in. Chip-enabled cards protect your card information in a big way by storing it on a computer chip in addition to the magnetic strip on the back of the card.

Please note: Arvest is currently issuing this technology in new and reissued corporate credit cards and corporate purchasing cards only. This technology will also be available soon on consumer credit and debit cards.

Enhanced Fraud Protection with Chip Technology

Every time you use your card at a chip-enabled terminal, the embedded chip protects your information by creating a unique transaction code. Using a chip-enabled card is a simple process:

Note: You may also be required to enter your PIN or sign for your purchase.

  1. Insert the chip end of your card into the terminal with the card facing up.
  2. Keep your card in the terminal and follow the prompts on the screen.
  3. Remove your card when prompted and take your receipt.

Enjoy Global Acceptance

More places than ever now accept Visa® credit cards. Whether you check out using chip technology or decide to swipe your card, you can pay with confidence worldwide. Plus, you're protected against unauthorized use with Visa®’s Zero Liability policy.

What is a chip-enabled credit card?
A chip-enabled credit card is a card that stores your data on a small computer chip on the card rather than a magnetic strip on the back of the card. Arvest Corporate Credit Cards and Arvest Purchasing Cards are now being issued with chip technology. You'll receive an enhanced level of security as well as global acceptance.

How does chip technology protect my information?
Every time you use your card at a chip-enabled terminal, the embedded chip generates a unique transaction code. This prevents stolen data from being used fraudulently.

Where can I use a chip-enabled card?
You can use chip-enabled cards at millions of places that accept Visa® credit cards, at home and abroad.

Can I still swipe my chip-enabled card to pay?
Yes. If a merchant is not yet chip-enabled, you can continue to swipe your card.

Will I have to pay any fees to use a chip-enabled card?
No. There are no additional fees to use a chip-enabled card.
